On Sunday 25th June we had our very first Student Concert here in Harston in a specially hired space near our studios. We had a fabulous mix of talented students playing a variety of instruments including voice and recorder! My very youngest student was just 5 and my most recent student had only had two lessons and came along to perform on her recorder. We had one adult beginner on the piano and some wonderful singing by another student of the favourite English Folksong "Green Sleeves". This event ensures experience in performance before an audience, which of course is a technique in itself outside of standard lessons. It is always fun to share music-making. Our performers and their appreciative friends and family who joined them, enjoyed my home-made fairy cakes afterwards (there were one or two left for me to enjoy with a cuppa at home! Let's look forward to the summer events of August 12th and 13th, or Sunday August 26th for more fun making music together as well as performing. Check out the details on the first page of my website!
